Boutique airline Skyjet is now the second airline in the Philippines to provide Personal Protective Equipment to their flight attendants. In a special chartered humanitarian flight last April 22 from Manila to Naga with 18 doctors and medical staff, cabin crew were PPEs to protect them from the CoviD-19 now gripping the world.
The PPEs provided by Skyjet for their cabin crew include a body suit, face shield, face mask and gloves. Two flight attendants manned the cabin of this special flight which also carried medical equipment, utilizing the BAe 146-200 aircraft.
Based on a study by the NYTimes, flight attendants stand a high risk of contracting CoviD-19 when not protected where their probability is as high as medical staff workers.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the very first airline in the country to provide PPEs for the cabin crew amid the CoviD-19 pandemic.
