Another victory goes out to the Heart of the Filipino as Philippine Airlines earned another 4-star rating, this time, from the New York based Airline Passenger Experience Association in an awarding ceremony last September 24 at Boston, USA. Just last February, Philippine Airlines was also rated 4-stars by the London-based global airline rating company, Skytrax!
Aside from those two honors, Philippine Airlines was also recognized as the World's 2nd Most Improved Airline of 2018 from the annual Skytrax passenger survey
This APEX award was based on passengers feedback on PAL's overall flight experience that include seat comfort, cabin service, food, beverage, entertainment, and WiFi connectivity. All the results were "Certified, Validated, and and Verified".
APEX Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joe Leader said, "“Of nearly 500 airlines rated worldwide, less than 9 percent were rated by their passengers at the highest Five Star Airline level and only the next 14 percent reached the prestigious Four-Star Airline tier." He also adds “We are extremely proud of the results of our passenger driven Official Airline Ratings program with TripIt."
From the time Jaime J. Bautista was reinstated as President of Philippine Airlines in 2015, the airline began to embark on a journey to become a premier global airline and to be a 5-star rated carrier. These included huge improvements in inflight services, the cabin refurbishment of the mono-class Airbus A330s into tri-class, the order and delivery of brand new Airbus A350-900 jets, improved cabin interiors of the Airbus A321NEOs, wifi connectivity in most of the aircraft, a more stringent cabin crew training program and so much more. All efforts paid off as PAL began to rake in awards and recognitions from different airline rating bodies including it's present 4-star rating from Skytrax.
Congratulations Philippine Airlines! You are indeed an airline the Filipinos can definitely be proud of!
