Cabin Crew Aspirants Send Messages of Love to Oman Air Flight Attendants Affected by Recent Lay-Offs
By: Flyhigh Manila Staff
Cabin crew aspirants see their present flight attendants as like their "ates" and "kuyas". These aspirants draw inspiration to turn their dream to be a flight attendant into a reality through the stories and pictures their "ates" and "kuyas" post. These present flight attendants on the other hand go all out to really inspire their future generation counterparts. They give a lot of advice and tips to the aspirants who want to earn their wings one day.
There are many Filipina cabin crew at Oman Air who have shared their stories and pictures because they want to inspire these aspirants to really pursue their dream and to never give-up. These present cabin crew were once an aspirant and now that they have earned their wings, they want to help others be in their shoes one day.
The Coronavirus (CoviD-19) pandemic has taken a toll on the airline industry which forced almost all airlines to suspend passenger flights by 90% and up. Oman Air announced that they will temporarily suspend passenger operations until further notice, but it did not stop there.
Just a few days ago, Oman Air terminated the employment contract of more than 100 flight attendants, and many of them are Filipinos. Many of these affected Filipino flight attendants, more than just a follower of our page, have also shared their pictures and stories to inspire our aspirants, and now, they are going through very tough moments after losing their jobs all of a sudden.
Many of the cabin crew aspirants felt so sad for their "ates" (not sure if there are male Filipino cabin crew in Oman Air). These aspirants wanted to do something as a way to "give-back" to these present Oman Air flight attendants affected by the recent turn of events in the airline.
The cabin crew aspirants wrote messages of hope, love, encouragement, and gratitude for their "ates" with the hopes of uplifting their spirits. "Tinulungan nila kami kasi lagi nila kami iniinspire maging FA. Ngayon, kami naman ang tutulong sa kanila para bumangon uli sa pinagdadaanan nila," said Anj, a cabin crew aspirant.
So to all the Oman Air flight attendants who were affected by the recent lay-offs, particularly the Filipinos, those people you have helped are now here for you, with messages of love and encouragement.

Hello there.. I saw this message from Christian Pastor Paula, I take this message as a protection from God. When things are not under our control, it's a sign that God take us to greener paths and keep us away from danger. Keep your faith and trust in God's plan. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind and lean not into your own understanding."
Arianne Jennine De Lemos
Hello heroes! Yes, like our frontliners, you are also our heroes. Thank you for being the light as we dream and be the best we could be. This may be the toughest time you could ever have but let me share you this verse I couldn't live without. Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.". One thing is for sure, this will definitely pass. You've endured a lot, even the toughest trainings as well as to live miles away from your families. It is a proof that you are the bravest among everyone I knew, even myself wouldn't be able to face it. You guys have already won this battle. Believe it. It may not be for now, yet one day, you'll remember how triumphant you were when you fought for this. Sending love to all of you. Looking forward to see you all fly and soar up high again!
I once dreamt to become a flight attendant. Tho, it’s still a dream for me; I believe that everything happens for a reason and with purpose. To all our “ates” being affected by this challenge, keep your strong heart always and your wings intact. It may not be such an easy phase, but you will all get through it. Never lose hope, praying for you.
Mahid Bora Macada-ag Dimaporo
To all Cabin crew who have been working day and night just to bring all passengers to their respective families, two THUMBS UP for you guys. Never lose hope as God still knows what’s best for you. Just remember that “as long as you are alive, you will overcome everything”. Salute!

Keah Mae Capuchino Padlan The aviation industry has been close to my heart since I knew my aunt was a cabin crew. Then I began to be more curious about the airline world during college. I felt very sad seeing these articles online regarding to this matter. As an aspirant, I still wanted to pursue this dream of being a cabin crew. They are the heroes of my dream. Letting go of your wings will make you feel sad but remember the moments you've flown within the countries you've never expect you'll visit, the experience to discover new things and the friendship you've built with your colleagues. You'll cherish those memories forever and you'll never be forgotten. For whatever is happening right now, I know God has a plan why he prepared you for these new challenges in life. I know you can make it! I'm praying for your safety and I can't wait until there will be safe skies again. Thank you and Mabuhay kayong lahat!

John 13:7. "Fold your wings for a while, we'll all fly again." God Bless each and everyone!
Way back, I was in Middle East too, crisis, politics, management issues, lahat pinagdaanan, pati ebola, sars, merscov napagdaanan na din, and now I'm with a chartered airline, sabi nga may mawawala, may darating. Keep believing because temporarye lang eto, God has a better plan for everyone.
Daniella A Fajardo Hello To all FAs, we all know that this situation is hard for everyone but remember, always think positive and be strong, never lost hope. Always pray and thanks God we need to trust Him. I believe that he has a better plan for all of us. There will be a brighter tomorrow.
Your wings are always be there. Keep on flying no matter what. God bless all of you.
Querubin Ann Estacio Hi!! I am aspiring to be just like you! Your amazing wings may be taken down for now, but I know that all of you will still be flying soon. Keep on believing and going strong.
In the midst of all this global chaos, one must think that losing your wings is the worst thing that can happen. Let us all be reminded that God has a bigger plan for you. Lets just say that you are meant to be kept away from the dangerous virus and give you the opportunity to live longer and regain your wings once more. Remember to not seize the fire of your passion to serve others and take this challenge as an opportunity to grow and develop even more. So next time you wear your scarf, you will be prouder and more confident to say that, I am here to stay. Angels don't fall, they just lower their wings before they take a higher leap from the ground.
Kathlyn Kemberly Almero
I want to join you guys one day, wait for me and until the plaques done ready your smile.

Same with the birds who freely flies up in the air, so are you. There are times that rest is needed to get back to your track or under some circumstances (typhoon, calamity, etc) but I know that you know that your time to fly again will come and is what really you are meant for, just like a bird.

And from us here in Flyhigh Manila:
This situation has really been a hard one on the aviation industry and all these we see happening are simply beyond our wildest nightmares. I hope and pray that God gives you strength to overcome this. We completely understand what you are all going through and you have our hearts.
Doing that news report was very heavy for us because we were thinking how many were Filipinos and we just got word that plenty were affected. We were honestly affected, also knowing for a fact that many are our followers and we have in fact posted many of their pictures too. Really heartbreaking to receive news like this.
Nevertheless, stay strong, and pray. Nothing beats the power of prayers. These are one of those turbulent situations we encounter in our loves but always remember that turbulent skies are not forever.
God bless you all there, continue to have faith, keep praying, and stay strong. Know that we are with you and we are here for you guys.
