Middle East airlines like Saudia, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, FlyNas, Oman Air, and more are the biggest employers of Filipino cabin crew outside the country. In the past, these airlines would stage multiple open days and mass-hirings in the Philippines. In 2017, Qatar Airways staged around 4 or more cabin crew open days in different locations. Now, we barely hear from these airlines? What happened?
The last Middle East airline that hired cabin crew from the Philippines is Oman Air through its own recruitment agency. To date, we haven't heard from Qatar Airways, Saudia, Emirates, and Etihad. Did they stop hiring flight attendants from the Philippines given the fact that they continue to hire worldwide?
Honestly, it is hard to say if they did really stop hiring. Maybe for now, yes, but in the future, we have to still wait for an announcement.
There are different factors why these Middle East based airlines have not hired flight attendants from the Philippines in recent times.
For the mean time, we do suggest that you do take advantage of the present hiring from our local airlines. At this point, it is hard to say when Middle East airlines will start hiring from the Philippines once again. We do suggest that you take advantage of every cabin crew opening or hiring that comes your way.
At the same time, if you really want to fly for a Middle East airline, just stay posted but keep your options open too. As of this time, it is hard to speculate whether Middle East based airlines have completely stopped hiring or they would be in the future.
