Being a flight attendant especially if it's really your passion is the best feeling ever. And that instant "It's a beautiful day to serve people" feeling when you're wearing your cabin crew uniform is true. Mood-booster to see my customers happy. Keeping them safe and comfortable all throughout the flight. I am Kathleen Sangalang, and here is my flight attendant story.
When I was kid, I really wanted to enter the showbiz industry since I'm into arts and fashion. I even took mass communication as my first course then I shifted to Travel and Tours Management.
I love pampering myself and just the overall idea of traveling places to entertain people. But all of a sudden, my heart fell for the Aviation Industry. I would still be able to entertain people by giving them my best service on board and for sure enjoy traveling and dressing up at the same time.
I decided to pursue this career because I know I am responsible for creating a life that makes me happy and fulfilled and that is to be a flight attendant. It's nice to constantly want more out of life and live an extraordinary one.
I applied for Qatar Airways cabin crew position a month before my graduation. I was a bit hesitant and scared since I didn't have any proper work experience and it was my first job application but it is true that God not only sees where you are but He sees where you can be. So I told myself "THIS IS MY TIME. THIS IS GOD'S WILL." My family and friends supported me all the way.
Out of thousand applicants, I got accepted and passed until final interview. I'm blessed and grateful that my application process was so smooth until I received the golden email or let's just say my "joining date."
Then came the training process. Intense training for two months. Everyday recitation, drills, written and practical exams. I made sure to get 100% from each activity, to be able to answer every recitation, and read-memorize every word. Focus is the key to get your wings. I felt like my training went fast because I was enjoying the moment.
The most awaited wings day. Proud and happy to get my wings at the age of 21. Surreal. I was just dreaming of this and it finally happened. Totally worth it. Kathleen Sanggalang welcomes you on-board. Now, I've been to many places, spoiled my family, and bought my own house. You can be successful as long as you are focus and determined.
They always say imagine the life the way you want it to be and so I did. You are responsible for creating a life that makes you happy and fulfilled. To more safe skies, beautiful places, and happy memories." -Kathleen Sangalang
The aviation industry is heavily affected by the pandemic. I'm hoping and praying that we will comeback stronger than ever. I may not be flying for now but the sky is always my home. So as I'm resting my wings, I decided to purse my vlogging career https://www.youtube.com/c/KathleenSanggalang where I post and answer flight attendant related topic.
