December 8, 2010. I was already nervous that night because I didn't know what to do, what I will say, if I will make it or not. Nevertheless, I told myself, "it's okay if I do not get accepted, for as long as I tried".
When I got down the taxt, I saw this lady, so pretty, so tall! She looked like a model. I thought to myself, "what are my potentials here with these people around", I am just 20 years old, a fresh graduate, No experience. Will I make it? I told myself not to be afraid and I can do it.
I waited an hour before my name was called. We were five who entered the room. They made us turn, smile, and measured our height. The called the name of the four people who I was with except mine. I thought to myself that it's okay because it is my first time and I shall try again if I really didn't make it. Deep inside me though, I was already crying. They asked the four ladies to step out the room except me then I was congratulated! I was told that I was up for group interview. I made it until final interview, we were five that time. We were given a letter but it had to be read outside the room. When I opened mine, it said "Congratulations!" My heart stopped! I was accepted! I am a flight attendant!
I feel very lucky because our trainor was so nice! Training was hard but honestly, I was always exceited everyday to go to work. If only school was like this, I would have been a cum laude! After 2 months of training, we finally graduated! Time went so fast! I didn;t notice because I learned and experienced a lot! One day, an opportunity knocked which I had always been wanting to try.
September 20, 2012. Manila hotel, the line was long. Was it Starstruck? Or Pinoy Big Brother? When I got infront, I handed my resume. I told myself, "is this it?" They said to wait for a text if I made it to the next step. Every beep of my mobile phone, I felt very nervous. Then I received a text. Yes, I made it through the first step. The next step is a two-part thing. First is an exam, reach test and the checking of legs, arms, and face. Second part is group dynamics. They gave us a topic and we will have to discuss it as they observe us. After that, they will call your number. If you were called, you made it for final interview. They called me! Final interviewI One on one. It's okay, I answered them but I feel that I didn't pass. I don't know why, but I was quite accepting that I did not make it. After 3 weeks, they sent an email that I passed and that I am due for medical!. I took the medical check which was quite long and expensive but nevertheless, I passed! I couldn't believe it, I am now an international flight attendant!
New life. New home. New friends. New company! It was lonely to start off but everything became okay later on. I was able to go to places that I thought I would never be able to go to! After 15 months, the Lord gave me another blessing! Nope it's not another airline. I found out that I was carrying the biggest blessing in my life.
Novemeber 21, 2014. I gave birth to a handsome baby boy, my Zamir! I told myself that I will give my child a bright future the same way how my parents gave me a wonderful life.
August 23, 2015. Same feeling different time. Here I go again, falling in line. While standing in line and waiting, I was thinking whether I will be accepted or not because I have a baby. I told myself though that I am doing this all for my child. I reached second interview and made it to final interview, and through medical exam! Yes, I am a flight attendant again! Thank you, Lord!
September 26, 2015. It's hard but I need to do it, I'll be leaving once again, but all for my child. Two months of training. It was fun because this was what I really wanted. Sad because I miss my child badly. I am really thankful though that the Lord gave me another chance to fulfill my dream!
As they say, "most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”
Keep believing and never give up!
