The airline industry has been hit hard several times in modern history, but nothing quite as severe as the recent string of events. COVID-19 has spread to 209 countries and territories worldwide. This is an undeniable fact and reality check. Travel Bans and International Trade on hold means empty seats and parked planes.
The airline industry according to IATA could lose $113 billion in revenue. Something needs to give for the airlines to bear this weight, and flight attendants (the brave frontliners of this industry) will bear the brunt and direct impact of this crisis.
Our hard-earned wings, our childhood dream must come to a rest for now. As hard as it may seem, let’s not fold our wings. Keep the faith and hold on for a brighter tomorrow. Like in all things, this too shall pass. The skies will greet us all again. Our resolve to weather the storm and carry on in these times will not only be a testament to our will but also of our character. Our faith will be unwavering.
For now, let us think of the times and opportunities we missed while we were busy flying, ensuring the safety of lives, and earning our keep for our families. Let’s spend quality time with our loved ones. Finally enroll to that online course we wanted for the longest time. Start creative projects that we have been putting off.
God is still good by protecting us from all these. Let us put our trust in Him. He who gave us the wings, when the skies are clear, shall permit us to bravely soar high once again.
