In Catriona Gray's final speech as Miss Universe 2018, she said, "to everyone with a dream, know that your dreams are valid and on your path you are never denied, only directed.” This was indeed such beautiful and inspiring words, as even Catriona experienced failures and setbacks before being crowned Ms. Universe. This quickly reminded me of all who dream of becoming a flight attendant one day.
There is indeed no such thing as "an impossible dream" or "maling pangarap yan." Only those with negative minds would even think of that. Truly, all your dreams to be a flight attendant are valid and every setback may simply be a message for you not to stop, but to simply take a different road leading to your destination.
I too have had a childhood dream since grade 1 to be involved in the aviation industry. I am an aviation geek and airplanes are my happiness. Despite all the roadblocks along the way and just when I thought I was about to lose my dream to be involved in the airline industry, here I am, an owner of an aviation media company, now writing to you. Indeed, my dream was valid and all those roadblocks just meant a "detour" and "redirection".
When we travel, we leave point A and travel to point B. Along our flight, we may come across heavy turbulence, natural calamities, and other things that may hinder us from achieving our dream. We have three choices. First choice is to turn back to our original desitnation and never arrive at point B. Second is to ignore the warnings and just fly through which may cause us not to reach our destination all the more. Third is to sacrifice a little more time, redirecting or changing directions/way points but still continuing to fly to our destination. The choice is yours but for me, the third will be the best option, and that is to sacrifice a little and take path less turbulent, safe, but much longer yet, still arriving at my destination.
This is the same thing when we have a dream to be a flight attendant. When road blocks or turbulent areas arise, think of it as simply a sign that you are being redirected on a different waypoint or path but still ending up at your goal. It may take longer, but you still arrive safely.
So as you dream to be a flight attendant, know that it is valid. Rejections and failures are not signs to tell you to return back, but they are simply telling you that you will be redirected and it would need you to make changes in your life to be better.
Good luck future flight attendant!
