Every flight attendant has a story. It may have started with a dream, a challenge, a goal, or they may have just stumbled on the path to becoming a cabin crew. Luck if you’d like to call it. Destiny to some. And if you are an aspirant reading this, I am certain you have heard a lot of stories on how your friend, an acquaintance, a friend’s friend or any random person’s story that in spite of all the posted qualifications of airlines, they have been accepted by said companies even if they fall short of the bare minimum.
Those who are an inch short of the height requirements, problem with their weight, those with scars, birthmarks, uneven set of teeth, problems with vision, failures in college, more so not being able to finish college, or those with a 2 year course diploma, etc., etc., etc.
And these stories make aspirants feel one of two things:
But you should remember that they have their own story, and you should focus on yours. Never compare yourself to anyone else. Do you know difference between their story and your story?
They took a step. They moved forward. They applied.
And before doing such, they did at least one of three Ps:
So do not let doubt creep in and always have hope. Keep on improving yourself and move forward. Read, interview, research and ask questions. Attend seminars, workshops or join groups that will enhance your skills. While waiting for that perfect timing, prepare and have a positive perspective on things. You wouldn’t want to waste that opportunity, right? Constant improvement wouldn’t hurt anyone anyway.
I also conduct workshops which might be of interest to you. Please send an inquiry to any of my social media accounts.
This may be the start of your flight attendant story. And it would be my privilege to be a part of it. So feel free so send me a message.
And if there’s anything else you need, my name is Amor.
