If there is one thing that I would like to suggest to all our future flight attendants, that is to have a present cabin crew as a role model. Why so? These are people who are successful in achieving their dream. regardless of the number of attempts they went through. These are the people who you would want to be like one day, so I do greatly suggest to go for a present cabin crew when choosing an "idol".

Faith and belief in yourself is what will propell you to really go on and on until you finally become a flight attendant. It is basically the oil that makes all the rest run smoothly no matter what condition it is. Dreaming to become a flight attendant is simply not enough. You need to believe and you need to have faith in yourself and in God that one day, you too will earn your wings. It is about having faith that you will jump all the hurdles.

To become a flight attendant is not just a job. It is a career. It is a passion. Most especially, it is a title for those who deserve to carry it. More than the travel benefits and the rewards is a great fulfillment of being there for your passengers, particularly their safety. As some say, becoming a flight attendant is almost every girl's dream, and now, a lot of men have dreams of becoming a flight steward one day.

I spent my birthday eve and birthday itself with the cabin crew trainees of PAL Express, particularly batch 107. I was able to interact with them. I also witnessed them studying for their lessons. They would help each other, ask questions, review each other, and really memorize. No doubt, all 34 of them will make it to earn their wings. I saw their dedication and how hard they are working to become a cabin crew.

No, it is not easy to become a cabin crew. When you think what makes it hard to serve chicken, beef, coffee, or tea, you are only looking at 1/10th of a cabin crew's capabilities. Throughout the years, the role of a flight attendant has greatly changed. Today, the term "stewardess" is no longer used, instead, it is flight attendant. The term "flight steward" for males has not changed though.

Confucius once said, "choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." This goes the same in becoming a flight attendant. Do not only choose a career you will love, but also choose a career wherein you will love the journey in getting there. If you will love and embrace the journey, no negativity nor rejection from others will stop you from reaching your dreams. Let me share you a story.

The other day, I interviewed both Tanchellie Lobete and Sarah Garcia otherwise known as Team Tarah. After posting the video of their interview yesterday, our social media account was flooded with comments and excitement from their fans, followers, and aspiring cabin crew. I was honestly overwhelmed and amazed by the support this vlogger super-duo got. As for me, I learned a lot from them which I want to share with you.

So where are you now towards your journey to be a flight attendant? Have you tried applying and now currently making adjustments? Or are you now just awaiting the training call from the airline? Where are you now? The reason why we have to always ask this question to ourselves is so that we can monitor our progress. Getting a flight attendant career is not easy, and to many, they give-up in the middle.

Yesterday, I showed you six flight attendants who went through like more than 10 rejections or turn-downs before becoming a cabin crew in the airline they are in now. The reason why I featured was simply to give you all hope that despite numerous rejections, you still have that chance to be a flight attendant or flight steward. One of those we featured was rejected 21 times before earning her wings.

A cabin crew interview, be it a mass recruitment open day or a scheduled interview, is something to really prepare for. Whereas some think it is easy to get in, trust me, it is actually a very stringent and challenging process. In fact, out of 100 applicants, only 5 get in on the average. Here, we list down mistakes to avoid during your cabin crew interview day or any assessment day for that matter.

Except if it is a medical emergency or you notice something not right in the aircraft.
Do you notice that during take-off and landing, flight attendants try to avoid contact with passengers and each other when they are strapped to their jumpseats? There is actually a reason behind this and I do want to explain why it is important for passengers to avoid talking or communicating with flight attendants during the critical phases of take-off and landing, of course, except if it is a medical emergency or something you noticed.

Every great invention begins with a dream and a vision. Every expert was once a beginner. Every mansion begins with the first dig. Every great dish begins with a single piece of ingredient. Every flight attendant were once a cabin crew aspirant. Indeed, everyone have their own humble beginnings, and every beginning may be a time of a lot of challenges and hurdles before reaching their goals.
